DNS redirection is a crucial component of using a DDoS scrubbing center. When an attack is detected, the victim's DNS records are temporarily updated to point to the scrubbing center's IP addresses. This allows all incoming traffic to be routed through the scrubbing center before reaching the victim's server. The scrubbing center then analyzes and filters the traffic, forwarding only the legitimate requests to the original server. After the attack subsides, the DNS records are reverted to their original settings.
