DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically assigns an IP address and other network settings to your device. Using DHCP is generally recommended as it simplifies network configuration. If your Blu-ray player is set to 'Static' IP and the settings are incorrect, it will fail to connect. Switching to DHCP often resolves the 'Network Error Has Occurred PES' by allowing the player to obtain valid network settings.
